The celebration of beauty always remains a special occasion. Thus, as every year, the traditional fashion event has kept its promises of shows and colors. For its 22nd edition, theCaftan event 2018 brought together thousands of stylists from all over the world. We present here, from various angles, this great gathering so awaited by all.

A special Caftan

Initiated by the famous magazine Femme Du Monde (FDM)Caftan is an event that brings together every year designers of various kinds from all over. It is the ideal opportunity for designers to unveil their latest creations. For this year, here are the honored guests:

  • Designers like Caftan Skalli and Salima El Boussouni known for their artistic qualities;
  • 16 designers came to present their latest creations;
  • The star of the song Asmaa Lamnawar and the famous stylist Amina Boussayri;
  • Many designers and artists as singular as each other.

It was held on April 14, 2018 in the city of Marrakech in Morocco for the sixth consecutive year. The primary goal of this organization is to highlight the Moroccan haute couture and to reveal the artistic and cultural inspirations of the Cherifian Kingdom.

A symbolic 2018 theme

The theme of the 22nd edition is "the ethnic groups of the world". The choice of this topic aims to pay tribute to the various races and ethnicities, peoples and tribes of the world. The edition therefore celebrates the emotions of all those men and women who, through their way of life, teach everyone the fundamental values of Caftans. Through the fashion shows and the artistic paintings presented, it is all Africa that is celebrated.

The models at the heart of Caftan 2018

With the primary goal of celebrating traditional Moroccan dress, the entire event unveiled a palette of fashion, music and dance. The 16 designers highlighted Moroccan clothesbut also universal. Among these, we can mention :

  • Andalusian styles, Egyptian canvases and an artistic painting of Vikings;
  • A "tone on tone" collection composed of black outfits with mosaic colors;
  • Indian and New Zealand creations to the rhythms of the famous zither instrument;
  • Clothes and large embroidery of the tsarist dynasty.

Other cultures like the Amazigh, the Ottoman civilizationRussian traditions and the Judeo-Moroccan heritage were not missing during this magnificent celebration of beauty.

Other event

Placed under the sign of the modeCaftan also represents an opportunity to fight for a good cause, that of the children of SOS Villages. To this end, Zineb Taimouri, director of publication of the magazine founder of the event, announced a special operation for the children of the village. She hopes to give them the opportunity to get closer to the designers and discover hidden talents.
